When you research corporate training options, you’re probably looking for something which will really resonate with your people to provide long-lasting behavioural impacts, rather than just a nice day out of the office.
Improvisation-based training is an impactful and efficient way to develop core business skills, including listening and communication, leadership and trust, innovation and creativity, emotional intelligence (EQ) and mindfulness. It just also happens to be highly entertaining and uplifting at the same time.
Whatever your specific objectives and desired outcomes, the underlying principle of business improv will be to bring everyone in the room into the moment, focussed, listening and with a heightened state of awareness.
The safe and non-judgemental collaborative space we create with your team is a valuable training outcome in itself, but this is just the starting point. The quick-paced and often hilarious experiential activities transport people safely out of their preconceptions, comfort zones, habits and fixed thought patterns, to a place where they can start to interact with colleagues in new and refreshing ways. The longer the session, the more this approach is embedded, and the more profound its long-term effects will be.
Improvisation-based training provides a holistic solution to a wide range of leadership and management skillsets. Improv-based corporate training can provide a free-standing inspirational performance or piece of entertainment, can act as an energiser or fast-track warmer to get people talking and listening.
But improv can also go much deeper than that. We work with some of the world’s top companies and industry sectors in ways which help to integrate new leadership & management approaches, culture change and organisational development, by embedding the experiential approaches to improvisation into the heart of conference and executive training and facilitation events. Find out how improvisation can help in different industry sectors.

John Cremer and his Mayday colleagues bring events to life in dazzling and unexpected ways. Their ability to bring out the improvising talents of random members of an audience is uncanny and inspirational. They electrify audiences with spur-of-the-moment improvisations that are variously dramatic, entertaining and hilarious
The laughter was continual and we were all surprised at the depth of learning and the practical value of the skills we acquired. Our team still talk about the event and we have certainly bonded as a group. We are already planning a follow-up session.
The Maydays’ show was definitely the highlight of our event. They got the mood of the audience immediately and presented a great, high level show which was both clever and extremely funny at the same time. Best of all was their enormous sense of fun, which was completely contagious for the audience.
A truly magical experience…powerful in its simplicity. Hundreds of applications to how we work with each other and our clients…never thought it would be so relevant.
Highly professional…please extend my admiration for their professionalism and my hopes that they will be working with us on many occasions in the future.
The Maydays knew exactly how to take a simple idea and run with it until the audience were in stitches. Thank you for a great night of entertainment
The Maydays’ performance was the highlight of our clergy conference – hilarious, clever and pitched perfectly for the audience. They enthralled us by turning our suggestions and comments into comic turns and songs. The laughter never stopped and it was all totally appropriate – slightly cheeky but never offensive. They got the audience on their side from the start, and the mood of happiness and delight lingered long after they’d left the stage
A fantastic and bloody brilliant, entertaining way of learning. I would be very interested in pursuing a course of sessions.
Sarah and I really loved your act and the memory of the improvisation based on our daughter Meghan will last for years!
The sessions yesterday were really appreciated by my team and my boss and the sessions the day before I think set an atmosphere of fun and collaboration so a job well done. Thank you and please also pass on my thanks to Chris and Jen. They were truly delightful!
You were bloody brilliant, and the feedback has been great. THANK YOU for coming so far and giving so much.
It was never going to be an easy task doing an active activity with a bunch of hungover grumpy individuals, but the session was super fun - crazy how she instantly knew everyone's names! After all the fun, it was great to sit down and reflect on the cultural values and see that there were quite a few at play in the session. I also took other learnings from the session ('yes but' is easy by default, but maybe we can approach other peoples' ideas as 'yes and'). Nice!
