"The Maydays comedy course was enormous fun and has had a huge impact on my self-confidence. I would recommend this course to anyone, whether an aspiring comedian or not. Shortly after the course I went down a storm performing an off-the-cuff best man speech, and have felt a lot more confident doing pitches and presentations at work. Thanks guys"
Simon Course Graduate | "The Maydays and John Cremer guided everyone through the basics of improv, demonstrating with patience and enthusiasm...Apart from very addictive fun, it leaves you with a sense of extra confidence and a permanent ability to deal more wholly with people."
Jonny Gould Commentator for Sky Sports and TalkSPORT and Residential Course Graduate | "The course was sometimes inspirational, sometimes terrifying, sometimes poignant, but always a fun and exciting experience. I would recommend this course to anybody who wants to learn more about this creative and inclusive comedy art form. If you're looking for a life-changing, challenging and rewarding human experience, look no further!"

IMPROVISED COMEDY FOUNDATION DAY - Brighton, 1 day workshop 24th March 2012.
Spend a day learning the basic principles of improv comedy, and do wonders for your creativity and confidence. This course is a gentle introduction to the core improv techniques. Suitable for beginners or those with some improv or stage experience, the foundation weekend is about exploring and having fun with this life-changing art-form. Unlike the longer courses (below) we will not be working towards any sort of performance. This workshop is great as a stand-alone or makes an excellent ‘taster’ for those considering Level 1 or Level 2, and for determining which of the two levels would be most suitable. Course fees £45 / £38 CONC OR BUSY BEE To read feedback of Foundation Weekends from previous students click here. This course should be booked through Evolution Arts - visit their website now. | LONG FORM IMPROVISED COMEDY COURSE - Brighton 10 Wednesdays Plus additional showdate. Spring 2012 TBC.
Take your long form a stage further. This taster / refresher weekend is aimed at those with a good level of shortform improv experience and anyone who's done the longform course and would like to refresh or practice further. The Maydays specialise in Chicago-style long form improv and in this workshop the emphasis moves away from predefined games into a more fluid and versatile kind of theatre, often - but not solely - comedic. We teach you techniques to create theatre from a simple one-word suggestion, a monologue, or a newspaper article. Learn the legacy of Del Close and Charna Halpern in this exciting workshop where you will learn to self-edit longer scenes and explore a much wider range of improv possibilities. We offer you the freedom to create your own new forms with the guidance of experienced members of The Maydays who have trained with the best Chicago has to offer. Course fees £135/110 concession (unwaged, over 65, student) To read some feedback from previous students on Long Form Courses click here. This course is open to improvisers who have taken our Beginners course or the Foundation Weekend (discuss with your tutor which level is more suitable for you).
