John Cremer learned improvisation from Louis Anthony Russo in Arizona in the early 90's, directing and performing with Essential Theatre Playback Company. Returning to his native Brighton in 2001 he founded the Maydays. John works with a diverse range of clients including Microsoft, Deloitte, T-Mobile, Accenture, Airbus, Bank of America, Business Design Centre and Vistage. He is the author of Reading People and Improv. John is a Fellow of the Professional Speakers Association and was awarded Star Speaker 2007 by the Academy for Chief Executives

George Birtwell is one of the founding members of the Mayday Players. His comedy career started with the successful double-act Sydney and Alfie and he is a veteran writer and performer of sketch-shows in Brighton. He studied longform improvisation with Alex Fendrich and Bill Arnett at iO Chicago. He is also a musician, and like Harrison Ford, compliments his acting career with designer carpentry
Katy Schutte hates it when people use the third person to disguise the fact that they're writing their own biographies. She trained in Chicago with Second City and iO and, as well as the Maydays, plays in acclaimed improv show Katy and Rach. She was a Funny Women Finalist in 2007 and writes and performs with BAFTA nominated satire sketch comedy show The Treason Show. Katy has recently been performing with Fluxx, Don't Tell Jimmy and Music Box.

Rebecca MacMillan recently trained in improvisation at iO Chicago. She is a founding member of The Maydays. Rebecca was festival director of the Co-op Young Film-Makers Festival, and has acted in Bitesize with Whiteroom Theatre, and in the film Double Helix. She is sometimes to be found bringing history to life as an historical interpreter with Past Pleasures. She has a first in Latin & Ancient History from The University of Leeds. Show-off.
Jen Rowe trained at the Academy of Creative Training in Brighton. Her credits include dreamthinkspeak’s Underground, White Room Theatre’s Bitesize and ‘WHen' Production’s Pebbles on the Beach. She is an actor, voiceover artist, writer and teacher, and can sometimes be seen playing an evil pair of hands or a dry-land synchronised swimmer, with street theatre company Dodgytotty.
Alexis Gallagher trained in New York with the New Actors Workshop and with the improv troupes Burn Manhattan and the Upright Citizens Brigade, and in Chicago with the Annoyance Theatre. At the UCB theatre he regularly performed Del Close's signature form, the Harold. He has kissed the ring of many improv popes, including Paul Sills, Mick Napier, Ian Roberts, and others. He has written plays and screenplays, and appeared in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival production of The Spanish Interludes.
Laura Mugridge has been performing stand up comedy for just under 3 years and has been a semi finalist in ‘So You Think You’re Funny and the ‘Amused Moose Laugh Off’. She has performed 3 stand up shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, most notably premiering her hour long show ‘Can’t Weasel Won’t Weasel’ as part of the festival in 2008. She works as a comedian and actress, and also leads comedy and storytelling workshops for children. Laura also lived in France for 2 years, which means she looks very at home in a beret.
Jason Blackwater trained at East 15 Acting School on their acclaimed Contemporary Theatre course and received improv training under the late Ken Campbell, Sean McCann and Phil Whelans. He is also the artistic director of Crowded Logic Theatre Company, working to turn their debut piece, "Chav! it's a Musical Innit", into a large scale production. He is a stand-up comic and can be seen doing his set in Brighton and London. Jason will be appearing in the BAFTA nominated, topical sketch show, The Treason Show at The Pavillion Theatre, Brighton and recently appeared as The Big Bopper in the first fringe production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. He can also do card tricks.
