Music Weekend London 25th/26th June 2011 I loved all of it! I loved the fact that we did such a variety of song structures and games, that we were made to feel completely at ease, that the group was small enough to give everyone loads of opportunities to have a go at everything, that Heather and Joe were such excellent teachers, so obviously loving every minute of what they were doing, that the whole class was so supportive and willing you on to do your best. I felt really encouraged by everyone. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t enjoy about it. I did love the group singing, especially the “charity” single and the harmonising. I have tons more confidence that I would ever have expected. I feel much less self-conscious now and have some away with new performing skills. The whole idea of singing in front of other people to begin with. Then the idea of having to find rhyming words, as well as ones that made sense and took the story forward. These are skills that you can learn, though, as I’ve discovered, with some practice, reassuring words from those around you and a fun attitude. Well, it’s hard to see how it can be improved really. I guess I’d say expand it into 2 weekends, because we did cover a huge amount of ground in a relatively short space of time. Although it worked really well as it was. I would have liked to do some work on technical voice stuff maybe, because I’ve never done that before, a bit more on the actual singing, maybe a bit analysing some basic song structures, but this is all stuff for a longer course. I think the content was just right. Please, though, can you do more of the intensive courses in London (or Brighton). I would happily travel down to Brighton for some weekend classes. This was easily the best improv course I’ve done. This may sound a bit daft, but it has really made me feel happy, relaxed and euphoric. In the weeks before I did this, I was feeling really tired, depressed and had lost enthusiasm for everything. I feel reinvigorated now! I think doing an intensive musical improv weekend like this can really lift people’s spirits in a way nothing else can.I’d highly recommend it! Vanda Kvjatkovski, London Music Weekend, Summer 2011

Just
to say thanks very much for the dedicated input and excellent
facilitation from both Heather and Joe over the weekend. Although
sometimes out of my depth through inexperience, you managed to make the
it all so much more accessible than it might have been. I'll let you
know how the experience influences my song-writing. And - when I surface
form this busy period - I may even show up at another class! Lou Beckerman, Music Weekend 2011

Brilliant! Really enjoyed it. I thought everyone on the course was great fun and really up for it and you were fab. Let me know if you plan to do any more. Felicity Ventom, Musical Weekend November 2008
I had a really good time, thank you. Have learnt loads and loads. Great teacher and pianist. Suzi Payton, Musical Weekend November 2008
Great fun. Learnt a lot of stuff in short time and would definitely be interested in other workshops/courses on this. Julia Knight, Musical Weekend November 2008
Really enjoyed it. Definitely good to do the dance bits in the middle! But great for confidence and fast learning. Sarah Carter,Musical Weekend November 2008
Brilliantly brilliant. I did loads of stuff that I really didn't think I would or could, was allowed to fail spectacularly which I love. I will be back for future workshops. Thanks. Justina Mills,Musical Weekend November 2008
Extremely well paced, taught and developed. As a novice 'singer' the learning was immense - song structures, giving others lines and talking in different styles. I wouldn't change anything and heartily recommend to anyone. Clive Johnson,Musical Weekend November 2008
