Happily Never After Workshop in Bristol

After our sold out one day workshop in Bristol last December, we are back with us for our only UK intensive this year!
Inspired by The Maydays’ acclaimed show Happily Never After, we’ll explore the beautiful, bizarre and delightfully dark corners of creating theatre through spontaneous song.

This 2-day intensive is for intermediate to experienced improvisers with some musical improv experience who want to push their skills in singing, movement and ensemble musical storytelling. Dive into the playful world of musical improv through:

• Character-driven musical scenes inspired by fairy tales.
• Group singing with melody, rhythms, counterpoint and soundscapes
• Physicality: playful ensemble movement and stage presence.
• Collaborative freeform musical storytelling with emotional depth and theatricality.

Expect creative risk-taking and spontaneous musical magic that will give you tools for bringing song, character and theatricality into your improv and the confidence to explore musical improv in new ways. Magical, otherworldly and always playful; just bring your energy, your imagination and a willingness to get weird!

The Maydays present their 5-star improvised show – Happily Never After – a “darkly comedic” twisted musical tale inspired by gothic themes, fairy-tales, and the warped imaginations that brought us Lemony Snicket, Beetlejuice, Shockheaded Peter and Grimm’s Tales.
