Advanced Puppetry with Jennifer Jordan
About this Event
Advanced Puppetry is the perfect course for anyone looking to combine high level improvisation with the super silly world of homemade puppets. From finger puppets to objects manipulation and fully formed creatures, this course builds on the fundamentals of improvised puppetry already learned. Focusing on scenework, character and reactions you will come out of this course with sharpened skills and understanding of how to instantly bring unforgettable puppets and scenes to life.
- Re-visiting the fundamentals of puppetry Scenework, look at more surreal and abstract scenes. Quick ‘in the moment’ puppetry building, working from connection of breath.
- This course ends with an online performance.
- Students should have completed our Intro to Puppetry course or approval by the instructor.
Min. participants 6, max. participants 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.
Jennifer Jordan trained in Acting at Bretton Hall and, after ten years of performing and workshop facilitating professionally, she then discovered improv in Vancouver where she trained & performed with Vancouver Theatre Sports League, Instant Theatre, Second Storey, and The Fictionals. Now living in London, Jennifer is very much involved in the improv scene there as a performer, teacher, and Youth for The Nursery Theatre. She has also trained with iO Chicago, David Razowsky, Joe Bill, Lee White, Free Association and Showstoppers.
This Experienced course runs Wed 26th May- 14th July, 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm BST
Experienced (18 months+) A class for skilful players, especially those who have finished improv training programmes at their school and are looking to widen their horizons. These classes will make the assumption that you are comfortable performing longform improvisation and will push you.
Whatever the level of ability required, all of our classes are safe, supportive environments led by our experienced teachers. Please email us if you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you. If you sign up for a class inappropriate to your level the Nursery/Maydays reserved the right to remove you from the class without refund.
We offer scholarships for all online courses in order to make sure that the fun and community of improvisation is available to as many people as possible across the globe.
