Online Improv Elective: How to Fight with Bruce Tang
About this Event
New improvisers often go for arguing scenes because it can make for easy laughs, but this can end up with two people who stop listening because they are too busy yelling at each other. More experienced improvisers can have the opposite problem, agreeing with each other on everything to a point where there is nothing left to drive the scene. Over this workshop, we will focus on the details of conflict and how contrasting points of view can lead to compelling scenes. Discover how to navigate conflict in scenes that don’t end in screaming matches.
This is for improvisers on an intermediate level who are already comfortable performing scenes.
Min. participants 4, max. 12.
Bruce Tang is the founder and co-producer of Comediasians, the UK’s first improv troupe made up of pan-Asian performers. He trained at Hoopla, the Free Association and even right here at the Nursery! Since then, he’s performed with teams in Bangalore, New York and London. Bruce is also a writer and illustrator, working with the BBC Writer’s Room and with improv shows such as Comedy Bang! Bang!.
