Scenes without Suggestions with Jules Munns
About this Event
Not all scenes need suggestions, in fact, they can get in the way. Since doing nothing is impossible and neutral does not exist, how your partner is standing, sitting and even breathing can give you everything you need. The scene has already begun, all you need to do is notice.
In this course, you will practise observing your partner and yourself and playing scenes based on that. Just by looking at them, you will find a world of possibilities and how much fun it is to just play with them. This will power scenes that are fresh, powerful and often rather strange.
- Observing your partner to create the basis for a scene.
- Combining observations to form unusual and compelling scene starts.
- Holding on to the initial impulse while still building the world and the relationship.
Min. participants 6, max. participants 12. If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.
Jules Munns performs with the Maydays and Impromptu Shakespeare, as well as being one-half of Ten Thousand Million Love Stories. He has performed and taught across the world, from Finland to Pakistan, Malawi to Canada. He creates improv blogs and podcasts and performs online for the Nursery.
