Mindfulness and Being Present Training

The Maydays are experts at bringing people into the here and now. Improvisation demands active attention and deep listening.  Mindfulness is not always about being at rest – it is just as important to be fully present when our brains are going at full speed.  It is an exhilarating space to be in, similar to many yogic practise, it’s relaxing, enriching and uplifting.  It’s also very, very funny.

Far from being a luxury pamper course, this is about reconnecting you to the world around you and building effectiveness as a result.

Typical take-outs
  • Delegates completely focussed, alert with heightened senses
  • Deeper connection to the present and to people in the room
  • The feeling of having woken up and see the business or relationships in a new light

Delivery suggestions

Maydays Pure Business Improv Training
We give you two trainers per group of 10-20 delegates and deliver an improvisation training session which will draw out mindfulness and presence. We will design a series of improv activities to bring about a state change in how your delegates think and collaborate together.
(2 – 6 hours per session)

Maydays Improv Training Experience
This is our trademark experience which provides you with at least 5 Maydays including an improvisational pianist. We start by showcasing what we do and then offer delegates the chance to get involved themselves. We launch into a fully experiential training sequence to enhance focus and alertness. Watch what happens to people’s intuition and ability to interpret situations… For 20 – 70 delegates at time.
(45 mins – 6 hours per session)

Maydays Improv and Show Experience
Easily our most popular format, based on the Maydays Improv Training Experience (above), this ends with your delegates performing alongside The Maydays and inevitably stealing the show. This is a great format to really build confidence. The Maydays help to create a highly memorable moment and in so doing, reinforce your organisation’s cultural drive towards greater focus and awareness   20 – 70 delegates at a time.
(45 mins – 6 hours per session)

Interactive Improv Keynote
For larger audiences where it simply isn’t logistically possible to deliver improv training in smaller groups, we blend a keynote style address with plenty of experiential learning. This works easily for 1000 delegates and more. We have delivered this format to 6,000 people in a (very big) room.  In the context of mindfulness and presence, the interactive improv keynote will get your people thinking, speaking and listening in a new way. The bigger the group, the more spine-tingling and exciting the outcome.
(30 mins – 1 hour)

Conference Improv Energiser
A lively, totally experiential and interactive energiser to get people up and active. We’ll select an improv game from our list of around 150 different activities, then lead the energiser to its natural, uplifting, hilarious conclusion. We usually deliver these sessions to up to 1,000 delegates, but there’s no actual upper limit.
(5 minutes – 20 minutes)

Your Organisation – The Musical Show
Want to showcase innovation in a creative, unforgettable way? Invite us back for the evening slot, and we’ll put on a show like no other. The Maydays will perform a mind-blowing, totally improvised musical show based on a storyline your delegates give us on the night and drawing on the theme of your conference or event. Usually from 100 to 500 delegates.
(10 minutes – 1 hour)

Your own thing
There is nothing we can’t do around the subject of improvisation and improvised performance. We can give you a Whose Line Is It Anyway-style show based on audience suggestions, or create a spectacle based on your brochures and publications! Put us to the test with your own ideas, and we’ll propose a winning solution.
