In-Person* Improvisation at Brighton Fringe, May 2022

Less of a blog, more of an improv platter. Here are the 25 improv or very-improv-related shows I’ve found for your spontaneity-loving eyes. This year, we have some old favourites plus some brand-new-to-Brighton newbies, visiting us from all over the country.

 

At a quick glance, I see shows and improvisers from London, Bristol, Kent, Leamington Spa and Scotland, but I expect that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

 

There’s murder, mystery, musicals, hip-hop, sitcoms, playback, competitive improv, filmic, theatrical, climate-change inspired, A.I. and cabaret. Here’s your chance to see all the different types of improv in one succinct arty month. So grab a friend, go see a show, try something new and then say hello, because we’re so lucky to have this much improv on our doorsteps for the month.

 

*I’m sorry this doesn’t include online improv – hopefully I’ll have time to put that together later this week, but for now this is the old-fashioned sitting-in-the-same-room-as-the-improvisers type show.
